What is a Quickshifter on a motorcycle?
A quickshifter (or quick shifter) is a device that allows clutchless gearshift on a manual transmission, and is commonly used on motorcycles. It increases safety and comfort of the vehicle since it eliminates the need of adjusting the clutch or throttle before and after gearshift.
Nothing in this world matters more to a sport biker than faster shifts every time.A average biker takes 600 milliseconds to shift with every thing coordinated, a very skilled rider takes 300 milliseconds. A QUICK SHIFTER can do that for you in 50 or less which is trance for a rider . The quick shifter basically replaces your existing shift rod with a new one which has a mechanical sensor in it which is connected to the ECU. As a rider shifts the sensor tells the ECU of change the ECU then kills the power for 15 milliseconds ,so that the next opted gear can be slotted properly. And all of this happens way faster than we can perceive.
This is generally used by racers in combination with Slipper Clutch to avoid focusing on trivial factors of changing gears and focus on important aspects of the race.
